Position Summary : The Certified Automotive Technician is responsible for mechanical, electrical / electronic systems including final stage vehicle verification on Consumer Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) conversions.

Essential Job Functions and Duties:

• Complete mechanical and electrical adaptation / conversion of consumer vehicles (Chrysler, Toyota, Kia, and other models as released).
• Provide support on electrical conversion process.
• Support mechanical conversion activities as needed.
• Install adaptive equipment into vehicles as assigned.
• Test drive vehicles to ensure quality of installations.
• Troubleshoot and identify problems with equipment and/or adaptations.
• Troubleshoot and correct complex electrical problems including CAN BUS related issues.
• Ensure high level of quality in adherence to company standards.
• Complete all jobs within acceptable time standards.
• Attend and participate in company and department meetings.
• Participate in supplemental training as required.
• Maintain all licenses and certifications required to perform assigned duties.
• Provide on the job training for technicians, mechanics, and manufacturing team member.
• Always maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, OSHA, and other safety regulations.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications and Entrance Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of experience with electrical and/or automotive wiring including trouble shooting experience.
  • ASE Certified Technician – A series: A6 electrical and electrical systems certified.
  • ASE – A Series, A4 (Suspension and Steering), A5 (Brakes) and A7 (Heating and AC) a plus.
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Candidates must successfully complete criminal and motor vehicle background check and pre-employment drug screening.
