Location: Indianapolis, INPay Range: $120,000 to $140,000OverviewCome grow with us by joining our team as an Assistant Controller! In this role, you will play a critical role for the company and will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments. You will be responsible for supporting the Controller in managing the company's financial accounting, reporting, and internal control functions. This role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contributing to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

ResponsibilitiesBelow is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or other applicable standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of variance analysis and financial performance reports.
  • General Ledger Management:
  • Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance:
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Audit and Tax:
  • Assist with internal and external audit activities, including preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Support the preparation of tax filings and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Team Management:
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of financial systems and procedures.
  • Implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 8 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
