POSITION OVERVIEW: *1ST, 2ND, or 3RD SHIFT *
We are seeking a seasoned and creative CNC Lathe/Mill Machinist in our Machining Division. Responsible for performing set-ups using a variety of CNC equipment and controllers. Responsible for continuous improvement of new products, being introduced for the purpose of adding sales and therefore adding jobs to our community. The ideal candidate can take a job from beginning (setup) to end (final customer approval).
This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in creating something from start to finish, seeing other areas running the same precise parts in production – the parts YOU made happen. Our products are used in planes, trains, automobiles, medical and more. This is a great way to utilize your skills and make an impact by working to improve the functionality of everyday items.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform set-ups on a variety of CNC machines working independently yet with team technical support
• Operate CNC machines proficiently with minimal supervision, following written and verbal instructions while meeting productivity goals.
• Implement changes in tooling, programs or processing methods as needed to achieve productivity and quality goals
• Create and follow set-up instructions, process instructions, and work instructions to ensure a reliable, repeatable process during production
• Use all precision instruments and measuring devices including but not limited to all hand-held gauges, optical comparator and CMM to inspect workpieces in progress
• Document process results using SPC charts, dimensional results forms, production logs, etc.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 yrs experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills
• 5 yrs setting up and troubleshooting CNC lathes or mills
• 5 yrs programming experience creating and editing CNC programs using both CAD/CAM software.
• (Modern uses SOLIDWORKS & MasterCam)
