Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a As a Respite Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental. This rewarding role requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to enhancing the lives of those in need.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Planning and implementing social/recreational, individual and group activities, including but not limited to educational activities, arts & crafts, cooking, community outings, dancing, and sporting activities:
• Assisting with transportation of participants as needed.
• Ensuring safety and well-being of all participants
• Encouraging participation in group and individual activities
• Providing documentation and feedback on participation in the activities program and participates in case conferences with other staff members.
• Help establish volunteer and recreational opportunities for participants within an integrated, community based setting.
• Teach necessary skills to promote independence
• Assesses program needs and prepares orders for supplies. Maintains inventory of program supplies to ensure availability on demand.
• Evaluating program guidelines to maintain consistency and achieve optimal performance. Advises supervisor of recommended changes.
• Performs additional duties, as required.

Qualifications:

• Previous work as a (DSP) Direct Support Professional (required)
• A minimum of a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalency
• Valid New York State Driver’s License
• Knowledge of sport and fitness techniques
• Knowledge of conflict resolution and/or mediation practices
• Ability to motivate, engage and develop rapport quickly with program participants
• A high level of energy, enthusiasm, and patience
• A friendly and approachable personality
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Superior preparational and organizational skills
• Computer literacy skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
