We have an exciting opportunity for an experience Sales Manager to join the dedicated team at Moehl Millwork, part of the BMD family of companies.
Position goals and day to day activities:
  • Provide dynamic leadership to build, coach, develop, manage and evaluate high performance teams capable of carrying out sales, business development, customer service, and other initiatives
  • Drive sales and profits to achieve annual sales volume, margin, market share and other financial and strategic objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership to develop, recommend, and implement sales strategies and processes to drive revenue, growth, customer loyalty and retention that are consistent with Company goals and that maximize the Company's return on investment.
  • Develop and utilize best practices and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive business development and to create and continually fill the pipeline with new projects and business opportunities.
  • Lead customer coverage strategy to maximize quality customer touches.
  • Direct and oversee administration of sales policies and procedures, new product and program introductions and implementations, product knowledge training, special events, merchandizing strategies, and store remodels and resets.
  • Utilize customer relationship management software (CRM) and other tools to review activities, drive utilization and provide feedback to achieve optimal sales performance and productivity.
  • Collaborate with senior management, purchasing, marketing, operations and other internal and external partners to assist with the development and implementation of new programs and product offerings. Facilitate communication between sales, operations, purchasing and marketing on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop, build, and maintain effective and long-term relationships with new and key accounts, vendors, and channel partners, and assist with business issues and problem resolution in coordination with applicable Company personnel.
  • Communicate regularly and provide updates on current market trends and competitive activity to evaluate performance and develop new business opportunities.
  • Organize and conduct sales meetings, ride-alongs, and other training and education programs for employees and customers on a regular basis.
  • Participate in the annual sales budget and business plan process in support of organizational strategies and objectives to establish priorities, increase market share and identify opportunities with the greatest potential to maximize profits. Make necessary adjustments in expenses, plans and programs to meet financial objectives.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining pricing strategies to achieve financial objectives.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with marketing to develop programs, promotions, collateral materials, and sales tools, implementing a regular cadence of promotions that drive incremental sales.
  • Provide recommendations and actively participate by representing the Company in industry trade shows and events.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Keep management informed of all matters of significance and take appropriate corrective action or suggest alternative courses of action.
  • Monitor progress again goals and objectives, provide status updates, and develop action plans to address deficiencies.
  • Perform additional duties as required and requested.
What you'll bring:
  • Building materials or similar construction industry background.
  • Three or more years of experience managing an outside sales team demonstrating the ability to lead, coach, motivate and train a sales staff.
  • Track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

In 1964, Bob Moehl and five fellow employees left Carr & Moehl and started Moehl Millwork. Following the death of Bob Moehl in 1975 employees managed the organization until 1987. As part of Moehl Millworks growth, the company acquired Kansas City Millwork in 1991. Don Rudd purchased the company on September 30, 2000. On December 1st, 2017 Don Rudd sold Moehl Millwork and Kansas City Millwork to Building Material Distributors, Inc. (BMD). Established in 1943, BMD is a distributor and manufacturer of specialty building products and millwork. Moehl is now part of the BMD family of companies and is proud to now be 100% employee-owned.
