Moffatt & Nichol has an opening for a Marine Structural Engineer V in Baton Rouge, LA. Job duties include: Provide project management and design for waterfront structures and marine infrastructures projects, including marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads, breakwater, and shore protection structures. Ensure structures can withstand stresses and pressures imposed by use and marine environment. Calculate stability, strength, rigidity, and make sure right materials are utilized for each assigned project. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, and five (5) years of post-bachelor, progressive, related work experience. Requires 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering or related occupations. Must have five (5) years of experience with/in: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Mathcad, and MicroStation/AutoCAD; STAAD, SAP, and VBridge; Shoreline protection material and breakwaters design; Leading and managing projects, including cost estimates, budgets, scheduling and documentation preparation, support, and evaluation; and Developing construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and structural calculation packages.
