This position will reside on the Bullhead City campus within the new housing development. Accommodation is provided as part of the employment package. 
Administrative
  • Plans and administers department budgets
  • Review and edit Student Life Handbook and Residence Life Handbook, annually; makes policy recommendations as necessary
  • Prepare and submit annual reports as they relate to programming and events
  • Serves as a member of the Student and Community Engagement Leadership Team
  • Recruit, train, supervise and complete performance evaluations for student staff
  • Actively engage with, and is consistently prepared for all trainings, meetings and special assignments, if applicable
  • Serves on college-wide committees and task forces, as needed
  • Respond to emails and phone calls within a timely manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned, within the scope of responsibilities
Student Engagement
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to develop, provide, and coordinate diverse programs and activities on campus.
  • Provide leadership and advisement to students and student organizations.
  • Plan, advertise, and promote College and campus events, clubs, student government/activities council, and other activities.
  • Coordinate programs, campus tours, and other functions that support the needs of students and prospective students.
  • Develop tools to assess College General Education and Student Life Student Learning Outcomes for Co-curricular events and programs.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, coordination, and supervision of overall program goals, objectives, activities, and budget.
  • Provide direction and support to students, student organizations, and student government by facilitating opportunities for leadership development through campus activities, events, and advocacy.
  • Support diversity, equity and inclusion practices and model leadership in this area. Develop and promote student involvement in affinity groups and identity exploration.
  • Serve as the primary on-site administrator for evening faculty, staff, and security personnel, responding to and reporting incidents as necessary.
  • Provide intentional awareness and active programming related to Title IX, Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act, and other regulations.
  • Provide central office support which may include production center management, reception desk coverage, and other duties as needed.
  • Travel with student groups as needed.
  • May supervise or provide work direction to student workers and leaders.
  • Perform other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned.
Housing/Residence Life
  • Promotes on campus living through programming, resident recruitment, and community involvement
  • Develop, implements and enforces all college and department policies and procedures for both staff and the residential community
  • Serves as a conduct officer for residential community violations
  • Manages summer conferencing and short-term housing
  • Coordinate residence life facilities management and general maintenance
  • Respond to emergencies and maintain a strong presence within the apartment community and across the campus during on-call schedule
  • Assist the DCSE with room assignments for new and returning residents, room change requests, and damage billing, utilizing a college approved software system
  • Manage student staff recruitment, selection, and supervision.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for all residents
  • Maintain and review duty logs and address incidents utilizing appropriate procedures
  • Advise residence hall association
  • Must reside at Mohave Community College Housing on the Bullhead City campus ($1,000 credit towards housing)
Minimum:
  • Associate degree in a related field from accredited college or university
  • Prior Related Experience
  • Experience living and working in a residence hall or similar apartment environment.
  • Experience in student learning outcomes assessment
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Or, any combination of education and experience that results in possession of skills, knowledge and behaviors as outlined in the position's core competencies below:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Higher Education, Student Development, Counseling or Social Work degree)
