- Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field with 10 years of experience in automating the Ethernet, TDM, Optical Inventory, Provisioning and Activation process.
- 6 years of experience in design and development in the OSS/BSS space around inventory management, provisioning, and activation
- Lead the design and implementation of Inventory systems for access and transport networks.
- Strong understanding in Layer 1, 2, 3 Inventory modeling process and provisioning.
- Must have experience in designing access and backhaul inventory and the switch provisioning process.
- Coordinate and drive the delivery across IT and Business partners in a multi-vendor environment through the SDLC – requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Hands-on involvement as needed in all areas of SDLC – troubleshooting, debugging, verification and testing, production monitoring and performance analysis.
- Layout enterprise architecture and design for systems and applications spanning multiple departments and organizations.

Network Eng and Construction
- 10 years of experience with strong background and understanding of telecommunications, outside plant engineering, construction, and managing network related construction projects with successful results that include scope, schedule, and budget.
- Maintaining the security of the outside fiber plant (OSP) network, either aerial and/or underground, throughout area of responsibility by managing cable location, by locating contractors and initiating protection activities
- Working closely with other carriers, local/ state agencies and building owners/property owners on new building adds and relocations.
- Working closely with upstream groups, completes fiber verification requests, project estimations, designs, bids, permits and manages construction of new sites.
- Monitoring infrastructure builds and reviewing punch lists and approving work that meets industry construction standards.
- Preparing project timelines, tracking budgets, and providing detailed weekly status reports.
- Obtaining value added contractors/subcontractors for engineering, permitting and construction of OSP infrastructure.
- Obtaining and managing contractors for route protection. Maintaining fiber splice records, network topography records, and fiber mapping
- Directing emergency restoration and mitigation activities required for the OSP network. This could include fiber optic damage, natural disasters, power failures and other events.
- Managing contract and/or employee fiber splicers and ability to be on-call on a 24/7/365 basis.
- Providing on the job divisional training to employees and oversees contractors to ensure the proper method and procedures of facility protection and maintenance are followed.
- Utilizing locating equipment, use of Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR), and troubleshooting tone generation/reception in field and experience in computer aided drafting (CAD) programs.
Field and Dispatch
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 10 work experience in Service Support, System Support, IVR experience and or Service Assurance

- Experience in developing Chat experience, introducing automation and self-service capabilities in Chat by exposing Support Content, KB, Articles, and Automated Workflows within the Chat context.

- Conducting user research, creating a feedback loop, and helping business and IT to prioritize Chabot features and functionalities.

Service Assurance & Network Surveillance
· 10-year degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering or related field, or the equivalent in experience.
· Must have 8-10 years telecommunications and optical/IP NOC experience in submarine/terrestrial optical networks.
· In-depth technical expertise in optical transport networks including Packet transport (PTN), Control Plane- GMPLS (ASON, Layer 0, Layer1), DWDM, OTN, SDH, MPLS-TP, Ethernet, Layer 2, FTTx and DOCSIS.
· Familiarity with DWDM, RAMAN, EDFA, WSS, Control Plane, Flexgrid, and CDC architecture and demonstrates significant and specialized knowledge of fiber optic principles in access network and DWDM transmission.
· Extensive skills on Different Tools for Troubleshooting such as Power Meters, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), OSA & BERT to test fiber and verify specifications and throughput.
· Sound working knowledge of key business applications that drive service provider networks: Data and Optical Services, Data Center/Cloud ecosystems.
· Create, reviews and approves Methods of Procedures prior to implementation.
· Create system support documentation including instructional procedures, provisioning guidelines, test plans, problem documentation and functional process flows.
· Experience in troubleshooting large network major and critical outages.
· Experience managing IT or IP Network deployment projects in a mission critical environment requiring coordination across multiple disciplines for the delivery of a common goal.
· Ability to independently troubleshoot network issues.
· Knowledge of optical OEM devices such as Cisco, Infinera, Ciena, Cisco, Nokia and ECI.
· Familiarity with Colo, space and power requirement of optical network devices.
Network Planning and Performance
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering with 10 years of experience in wireline network planning and design.
- If coming from an IP background: Experience with IP protocols, experience with Internet ecosystems, including open exchanges, cloud/peering, colocation, routing/switching and transport infrastructure, servers & storage, etc.
- If coming from an optical background: Experience with DWDM transmission systems, long-haul fiber facilities, experience with physical connectivity at all layers, including DC cabling, power distribution, cross-connects, network management, etc.
- Preferred experience in network designs & solutions, network management tool administration, and management of assets & components.
- Support network testing & provisioning for all service offerings including MPLS, IP transport, DIA, Optical Wavelengths, DDOS, etc.
- Provide hands-on support for network troubleshooting and outage remediation steps.
- Prepare proposal recommendations and supporting details to guide decision making for network augmentations, growth, and special projects.
- Interact with internal and external teams to understand network requirements and coordinate network changes for implementation.
- Regularly interact with equipment suppliers, and third-party network vendors to engage their technical resources to perform tasks.
- Create test plans, Methods of Procedures (MOP) documentation, and service configurations to maintain & optimize the network to exceed Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements and provide maximum reliability & uptime.
- Standardize, configure, and validate network devices such as DWDM optical transport system, IP routers, Layer 2/Layer 3 switches, servers, storage & backup devices, and other related network components.
