Mola is a concept-based restaurant in Adams Morgan. Mola is elevating Panamanian-Caribbean cuisine found in home kitchens, serving food made from scratch.

We are looking for part-time Line Cooks who are energetic, enthusiastic, and eager to create special experiences for our guests at our restaurant in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of D.C. As a Line Cook, you’ll create and execute dishes with care and detail, while upholding cleanliness, preciseness, and decision-making abilities. We offer a unique experience with our open kitchen, where our guests get to view the process of the food being made and plated. Because of this, you exhibit a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and fellow colleagues. Honesty and dependability are required.

Line Cook Primary Responsibilities:

• Understands and appreciates Caribbean food.
• Follows procedures for food execution
• Adheres to recipes and proper preparation and plating technique.
• Adherence to operating systems, procedures, and standards.
• Setting up stations for service
• Maintains cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
• Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces during and at the end of the shift.
• Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
• Speaks to current menu offerings and ingredients with guests.
• Follows continuous training and directions, as well as self-manages one’s time
• Exhibits a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and coworkers.
• Must be flexible with job responsibilities, including washing dishes

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-year experience in high volume restaurant kitchen operations as a line cook is preferred. We can teach those who are willing to work hard and are fast learners.
• High level organizational skills with multi-tasking capabilities
• High attention to detail and follow through.
• Dependable, reliable, and highly motivated.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to multi-task and move in the kitchen for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs
• Able to work in a confined area.
• Flexible availability required, including weekends and holidays
• Familiar with industry best practices

Average hourly wage rate greater than $20 with tips.
