Molecular Designs is Hiring a Financial Analyst Lab Revenue Near Austin, TX

The Financial Analyst Lab Revenue position serves as our central expert on revenue performance and reimbursement data for our lab business unit. This includes developing a deep understanding for and routinely reporting to management on areas such as: lab revenue performance against budget & forecast and billing performance & trends, with emphasis on insurance reimbursement trends across 3rd party payors. This role requires experience creating & maintaining complex financial models and utilizing high-level analytical skills.
  • Develop and maintain financial models that organize, analyze, and report on all aspect's lab revenue (revenue, billing, 3rd party payors, etc).
  • Utilize those financial models to report and provide guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Is the internal and external subject matter expert on market access, reimbursement and medical policy matters related to medical laboratory testing.
  • Review third party medical policies and determine coverage and reimbursement.
  • Medical coding and payment analysis, insurance authorization, coverage and cost effectiveness analysis as well as collaborating/building relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Monitors, interprets, and summarizes changes in the external environment (regulatory/reimbursement changes, managed care arrangements, etc.) as well as state and federal regulations affecting reimbursement methodologies and appropriate coding for medical laboratory testing.
  • Lead revenue budgeting and forecasting operation for lab business unit, as well as variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly management reports emphasizing operational/financial performance metrics, historical results, budgets, forecasts, and trends.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, data analysis, or healthcare-related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in analysis-centric role.
  • Experience with medical coding and billing preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Innovative and resourceful.
  • Advanced data analysis and financial modeling skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive problem solver with excellent analytical, quantitative, and investigative drive.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work in a team setting or independently.
