Monarch Manufacturing, Inc.’s Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Department’s CNC Operators are one of the first and most integral parts of the cabinet production process. CNC Operators are responsible for selecting the correct material and cutting it to order specifications. It is because of their attention to detail and organization that our customers’ cabinets make it to the next stages of the production process and eventually into our customers’ homes or businesses.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:

  • Ability to read and comprehend order paperwork, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Ability to utilize various computer programs.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to operate an electric pallet jack.
  • Ability to operate a CNC Machine, including tool set ups.
  • Ability to operate a Windstore X3 machine.
  • Ability to operate an Edge Bander machine.
  • Ability to identify different materials and wood species.
  • Dedication to keeping a clean and well stocked working environment.
  • Cross-train in other areas during department downtime.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness, consistency, and thoroughness of the work assigned.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

  • Carpentry skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Measuring skills on a tape measure to nearest 1/16th of an inch.
  • Measuring skills on a caliper.
  • Basic mathematical understanding, including converting fractions to decimals.
  • Listening and communication skills.
  • Teamwork.
  • Punctuality.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Prior woodworking or cabinetry experience is preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ascending or descending ladders and stepstools on a constant basis.
  • Move self into different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments occasionally.
  • Remain standing in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time on occasion.
  • Adjusting or moving objects of varying weights in all directions.
    • Constant movement of objects up to 50 pounds.
    • Occasional movement of objects up to 100 pounds or more with assistance.
  • Constant repeated motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Constant operation of machinery and/or power tools as assigned.
  • Occasional operation of motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Occasional exposure to high temperatures during summer months.
  • Constant exposure to noisy environments.
  • Exposure to airborne particles, specifically sawdust.
  • Occasional exposure to small and/or enclosed spaces.

JOB LOCATION:

Sullivan, Illinois.

PAY SCALE:

$16.00 to $20.00 an hour. This is based on experience with the potential to increase at 30/90-day performance reviews.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday, 6:00AM to 2:30PM. (40 hours a week).
