Tool Maker (Injection Molding) - CR4924 - Elmhurst, IL
Pay: $2 - 40/hr benefits & paid holidays
Industry: Plastic injection molding
Location: Near Elmhurst, IL
Schedule: Full-time / 1st shift
Summary
The Tool Maker is responsible for making and fixing all sorts of special tools, molds, and fixtures. They work with different materials like metals and plastics to create intricate designs. They also troubleshoot and repair various tools and equipment. Keeping track of supplies and documenting everything is part of their job too. They work closely with the Quality and Engineering teams to solve any issues that come up during the molding process.
Responsibliities
  • Organize and schedule mold maintenance activities.
  • Use measuring tools to inspect and clean equipment before, during, and after molding operations.
  • Adjust equipment settings to ensure quality production.
  • Troubleshoot and repair molds and tools as needed.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to create new fixtures and machine parts.
  • Utilize CAD software for design purposes.
  • Build new molds and tools based on specifications.
  • Inspect completed tools for any defects.
  • Maintain inspection and maintenance records.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and technicians daily.
  • Attend production meetings and contribute to planning processes.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of prior mold or tooling design experience preferred.
  • MUST have atleast 3 years of prior experience constructing/manufacturing molds or tooling.
  • CNC programming or operation experience is a plus.
  • MasterCAM experience is REQUIRED / SolidWorks experience is a PLUS.
  • Must have access to own handheld tools.
  • Willingness to learn and cross-train and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and effective time management and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including overtime as needed.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and company success.
  • Ability to occasionally exert up to 50 lbs. of force, and/or consistently exert up to 20 lbs. of force to move objects.
