STARTING DATE: July 2024
SALARY RANGE: $50,960 - $64,480 per year
- Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Experience and Contract.
- Maintain the financial records through Wincap and Excel including general ledger reconciliations, creating new budget and revenue accounts, creating, and entering journal entries, entering budget amendments and transfers. All in a timely and detailed manner.
- Maintain and analyze Accounts Receivable. Send out past due notices. Work with collection agency.
- Maintain and reconcile the vendor withdrawals related to Flexible Spending Accounts and Other plan withdrawals.
- Maintain spreadsheet for Special Aid Fund which includes ESY and grants and contracts.
- Reconcile semi-monthly payrolls.
- Monthly and quarterly board reports.
- Work with various departments and business office staff to resolve issues and handle inquiries.
- Monthly bank reconciliations.
- Yearend close account analysis, journal entries, and reporting.
- Assist Treasurer with State Aid reports and Treasurer’s reports.
- Backup to Assistant Treasurer.
- Backup to Billing Clerk.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Civil Service eligibility as an Accountant:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting; OR,
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Administration, that included a minimum of fifteen (15) semester credit hours, in accounting, PLUS one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent professional* experience in auditing or accounting; OR,
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an associate degree in Accounting, PLUS two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent professional* experience in auditing or accounting; OR,
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
- Professional experience in auditing or accounting shall not include account keeping, bookkeeping, or other clerical financial or record keeping activities.
- Strong background in finance, record keeping, and accounting required.
- Expertise in Excel required.
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy, be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
- Strong customer service orientation along with interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage large volumes of work, effectively adapt to change and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with various internal departments within Monroe One BOCES.
- Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
