Job Description: Part-Time Faculty, King Graduate School
The King Graduate School at Monroe College seeks passionate and creative educators to join our team of dynamic instructors to teach Graduate Research & Critical Analysis, a pre-requisite course designed to strengthen academic research and writing skills for first semester, multi-disciplinary graduate students.
The right candidates will have experience with the academic processes of primary and secondary research, and is confident to navigate students through their curiosity-driven, secondary research projects, each semester. As many of our students come from diverse personal and professional backgrounds, an ideal candidate is also an instructor who is willing to learn alongside their students.
Courses are offered fully online (must complete certification), in-person (Bronx, NY and New Rochelle, NY), and virtually (via Blackboard Collaborate). Classes are held afternoons, evenings, and weekends to accommodate working students.
Requirements:
• Advanced degree in English, Library and Information Science or similar (EdD or MFA will be considered in conjunction with related teaching and/or tutoring experience)
• Two years’ experience teaching college-level, writing-intensive and research-intensive courses
• Confident working with students from various cultural, academic, and professional backgrounds
• Proficient navigation of teaching platforms (Blackboard Collaborate) and technology (Microsoft Teams)
• Teaching excellence demonstrated through student evaluations and classroom observations
