Position SummaryThe Senior Category Manager Role is responsible for driving sales growth, market share gains, and enhancing customer partnership via category and key shopper insights for the Monster Beverage Company and Walmart.
The Senior Category Manager is responsible for proactively developing and delivering effective sales solutions in support
of the entire enterprise team at Walmart in alignment with Monster’s Strategy, Monster’s Core Values, and the
Customers key business goals.
Essential Job Function
  • Develop compelling presentations leveraging a broad range of data for support teams to share actionable insights that lead to effective results with the customer
  • Consult and collaborate with key stake holders on growth strategies related to the Customer Team, Channel Development Team, Operations Team, Bottlers, & the BU Teams
  • Proactively provide strategic analytical recommendations that promote sales and market share growth for MEC
  • Proactively identify and define new growth opportunities utilizing all data and insight resources
  • Learn and master Luminate which is a key data insights resource we leverage at Walmart
  • Leverage Luminate data to provide a deeper understanding of Walmart shoppers, identify sales opportunities, close voids, and support forecast accuracy in support of MEC and Walmart
  • Develop a consistent process of utilizing Luminate to report effective data and insights to the entire enterprise supporting sales growth for MEC and Walmart
  • Develop and maintain a process of training and onboarding new Luminate users
  • Create and deliver informative, detailed, and impactful business and category reviews to internal leadership to gain experience on sales insights with focus on white space opportunities that are most incremental
  • Utilize your experience in analytics, insights, and storytelling to convey actionable insights
  • Developing and maintaining good business relations between MEC, Bottling Partners, and Customers
  • Develop an understanding about all aspects of the Customer and Bottlers business that impact MEC
  • Collaborate and maintaining consistent business routines with all key stakeholders with the entire enterprise
  • Ability to develop profitable and strategic sales solutions that align with corporate and brand plans
  • Participate in the Joint Business Planning process as needed in support of MEC and Customer
  • Track, review, measure, and communicate key and actionable insights on all relevant data resulting in sales solutions that deliver results
  • Demonstrate a passion for understanding best practices, trends and technology affecting the business, industry, and marketplace
  • Manage all assigned reporting related to promotional and executional opportunities, both internally and externally in a timely manner
  • Make sound trade-offs of time, effort, and resources to effectively manage multiple business demands to ensure timely completion of job tasks and projects
  • Summarize and disseminates information in a timely manner and with appropriate frequency
  • Ensure accurate data and information reaches all relevant parties to avoid unnecessary surprises
Position Requirements
  • Five plus years of Consumer Package Goods , preferably in the Beverage industry
  • Ability to effectively build story telling through data and insights
  • Demonstrate the ability to synthesize data to accurately assess situations and find actionable solutions
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other technical skills that are required
  • Proficiency in data tools that measure and track business performance
  • Proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, business analytics, and financial analysis
  • High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to extract clear, concise insights from multiple data sources
  • Selling experience or working directly in a sales support role
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Finance
  • Demonstrated track record of sales success
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solver with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and sales solutions to cross functional teams
  • Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with customers; ability to collaborate at all levels
  • Time management, business planning, and balancing priorities a must
  • Needs to be a self-starter and able to work independently while being a team player
  • Ability to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional manner
  • Experience with Nielsen and/or IRI
  • Willing to travel as necessary
Pay Range : $117,000 - $138,000
