Nurse Manager – Bronx Health Collective- Outpatient Primary Care
A mission driven, innovative federally qualified health center (FQHC) located in the South Bronx is seeking a full-time Nurse Manager to join our team serving children, adolescents, and adults. The Bronx Health Collective (BHC) is a program of Montefiore Medical Center, affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and committed to providing high-quality, comprehensive, and compassionate health care.
Our beautifully designed and technologically sophisticated community health centers provide an enhanced medical home with comprehensive primary care in Pediatrics, Reproductive Health, Adult Medicine, and HIV/AIDS care to underserved populations. Behavioral Health and Nutrition services are co-located and integrated into primary care. Our community health centers have received and maintain NCQA’s Patient Centered Medical Home recognition with Behavioral Health Integration Distinction.
Special health initiatives include Child and Family Resiliency, Prenatal Group and Well-Baby Group, Diabetes, Asthma, Obesity Prevention, and Terra Firma; a medical-legal-mental health partnership clinic for unaccompanied immigrant children and families seeking humanitarian protection.
The Montefiore Nurse Manager maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses’ Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement. The Nurse Manager actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard, and performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center. The Nurse Manager participates in performance improvement / research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The Administrative Nurse Manager (ANM) demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served.
The Nurse Manager coordinates other activities including but not limited to inventory management, budgeting, and performance improvement activities to promote efficient / effective operations and quality patient care. Demonstrates leadership and clinical expertise in area of responsibility. Responsible for developing and maintaining competence of assigned associates. Collaborates with management and other interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate clinic and patient flow processes.
The Nurse Manager will supervise the nursing team; oversee patient care, make management and budgetary decisions, set work schedules, facilitate monthly nursing meetings, and make personnel decisions. The Nurse Manager will recruit and train nurses and other health care professionals. They also apply state and federal regulatory guidelines for patient safety and educate nursing associates about any changes.
Qualifications:
• New York State Registered Professional License and current registration to practice in NYS; Infection Control and Basic Life Support certifications.
• M.S.N degree from an accredited program required.
• Minimum of three years management experience required.
• Experience and/or interest in a community-based setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Annual Salary: $120,000 to $160,000
