DESCRIPTION

To perform gross examination of surgical pathology specimens, prepare frozen sections slides under direction of the pathologist; coordinate and develop immunohistochemistry procedures. Implement and maintain anatomic pathology computer system.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred. Minimum of two years experience as a Pathologist’s Assistant preferred. NYS Pathologists’ Assistant License. Requires the understanding of basic principles of the field of pathology in order to exercise judgment concerning acceptability of specimens and sampling tissues to assure representation of diagnostic features.
