POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sponsorship Assistant Manager role maintains secondary hospitality, branding, and activation partner accounts, ensuring fulfillment of contractual obligations for the PURE Insurance Championship and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. This includes providing the highest level of service to corporate partners and achieving tournament goals and objectives. The position also supports general Foundation operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Foundation:

• Lead secondary sponsorship sales and fulfillment for PURE Insurance Championship, and assist with execution of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am sponsorship fulfillment
• Initiate new sales leads as well as following up on prospects generated by sponsorship team, board members, inquiries, and other channels
• Manage assigned client relationships from contract negotiation through all steps of fulfillment
• Act as primary liaison with marketing, ticketing, player relations, philanthropy, volunteer, operational team, and external partners to ensure all sponsor assets are delivered as contracted
• Maintain and manage sponsor information in Salesforce, Formstack and all other MPF platforms
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable for Sponsorship program

Tournament:

• Assist with planning and execution of sponsored events (taking the lead on registration, timelines, and deliverables), including daytime, evening, and weekend work during tournament season
• Manage sponsor and vendor ticket and parking fulfillment (both physical mailings and digital distribution)
• Organize Honorary Observer program for both tournaments, in connection with PGA TOUR guidelines and sponsor assets
• Lead gifting and merchandise ordering and allocation
• Assist with training and oversight of volunteers working in sponsorship areas during tournament week
• Coordinate with operational team to ensure all sponsor assets are delivered as contracted 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assistance with tournament events, including spectator venues; involves evening and weekend work during tournament season.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

• Delivers high level of customer service to all clients, while supporting the Sponsorship program goals, and providing and overall assistance to the Foundation in the production of two major golf events: the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Pure Insurance Championship
• Performance and timely completion of job responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the Foundation’s expectations and standards.
• Works efficiently and effectively with a team in common pursuit of a high standard of excellence and success
• Serves as a positive member of a high-performance team
• Fosters positive relationships, effective communication, and positive results with key constituents, especially Sponsors and with other stakeholders such as contestants, MPF board of directors, volunteers and grantees, and community members.
• Represents Monterey Peninsula Foundation at the highest level of professionalism in all activities

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Minimum three years’ experience in comparable role; experience working in corporate sponsorship or special events preferred
• Must have excellent organization skills, attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• Strong project management skills and ability to deliver results and adhere to deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High affinity for customer service
• Familiarity and comfort working with databases; Salesforce experience strongly preferred
• Flexible and able to handle multiple assignments concurrently with reliable follow-through
• Ability to work collaboratively on a team and independently in varied activities, projects and settings
• Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality of information as appropriate
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe products
