Montessori Children's Center is Hiring a Preschool Infant/Toddler Teacher Near Centreville, VA

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated professional that is passionate about early education to join our school as an Infant/Toddler Teacher.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • The teacher should have experience working with infants and toddlers.
  • The teacher will be responsible for the curriculum for the toddler classroom as well as maintaining a good work environment.
  • The teacher is responsible for the instruction and supervision of the children in social and developmental activities. She will be responsible for assessments and, she will conduct surveys, classroom observations, and parent-teacher meetings.
  • The teacher will keep the classroom organized and clean at all times.
  • The teacher must possess good communication skills as he/she will be responsible to communicate with the parents daily.
  • She/he should be patient and attentive to all and any concerns the parents bring up.
  • The teacher we are looking for should be committed and punctual.
  • The teacher should be well-disciplined but very loving and patient with the children at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred, but not mandatory).
  • CDA or 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education (preferred, but not mandatory).
  • Associate of Arts Degree: Early Childhood Development (preferred, but not mandatory).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years teaching experience. Experience with at-risk children is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate experience and interest in working with young children, parents, and volunteers.
  • Must demonstrate a strong knowledge of appropriate practices in early childhood development including working with parents.
  • Must demonstrate success in working as a member of a team.
  • Must have effective and strong communication skills (orally and written).
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work well with young children.
  • Must be able to supply a yearly certificate of good health.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the program.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

  • Be able to lift 25-30 lbs.
  • Be able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
