Montgomery County Department of Recreation, a nationally recognized and award-winning agency, is looking for a highly motivated, team focused and detailed oriented career employee as an Administrative Specialist II (Human Resources) to support the department's mission to provide high quality, diverse, and accessible programs, services, and facilities that enhance the quality of life for all ages, cultures, and abilities. The department manages 39 facilities including recreation centers, senior centers, and indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities and provides thousands of programs such as senior activities, aquatics, classes, youth and adult sports programs and leagues, out-of-school programs, therapeutic recreation and special events.
The Administrative Specialist II (Human Resources) in the Department of Recreation provides key support to recruitment and hiring, background checks and records management, payroll and timekeeping, as well as data and budget support functions to keep our over 2,300 employees and our 39 centers fully ready to serve the public.

This position MAY require work during non-traditional hours to include early mornings, evenings/nights, weekends and/or holidays; may require work that involves physical demands, occasionally working outdoors in varying weather and extreme temperatures; and the ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside of the regularly assigned workspace. Successful candidates may provide onsite coverage and support to other divisional activities during the work schedule.
To ensure a positive workplace and to comply with federal, state and county laws, incumbents are responsible for completing mandatory trainings within the first three to six months or within the specified timeframe.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: Two (2) years of professional administrative experience
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
