Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process and ensure new hire packets are complete and accurate.
- Enter information to payroll system from input documentation, verify accuracy of payroll data entered by comparing against input documents, correct errors prior to submission of payment cycle.
- Follow up with payroll data sources to ensure required information is received in a timely manner and to resolve any discrepancies in the information provided.
- Interpret and process employee garnishments; assist with garnishment agency and employee inquiries.
- Review and reconcile payroll fees and other deductions such as health benefits, garnishments, loyalty pay, etc.
- Process stop payments and direct deposit reversals.
- Assist employees with PTO balance request.
- Assist payroll manager with internal audit requirements.
- Answer payroll inquiries, resolves payroll issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Record documentation for terminated employees.
- Conduct payroll presentation at weekly new hire orientation.
- Distribute end of year W-2’s.
- Provide teamwork/support to other departments for all payroll functions.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all payroll related items.
- Other duties as necessary.
- High school diploma. Degree and/or certification in an Accounting/Finance/Business discipline preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Detail oriented, with ability to multi-task, in a fast-paced work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office product suite.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
