Qualifications:

• Current Alabama Teacher's Certification, Master's Degree or higher with an endorsement in administration/supervision.
• Knowledge of, or experience in career and technical education, guidance counseling, and/or curriculum planning and implementation preferred.
• Three years of successful teaching experience.

Essential Duties:

• Supervises assigned career and technical programs (Agriscience Education, Career Technologies, Family & Consumer Education, Health Science, Technical Education, and Business Marketing Education).
• Assists in the supervision and evaluation of teachers and instructors in assigned areas of responsibility. Evaluates performance, makes suggestions for improvement, assures that current policy and procedures are being followed.
• Participates actively in the planning and development of the career and technical education curriculum.
• Works closely with other supervisors and administrators to coordinate and develop curriculum that integrate academic and career and technical education.
• Establishes and maintains good working relationships with agencies outside the system such as: State Department of Education, Alabama Department of Rehabilitation, Easter Seal, Goodwill, etc.
• Works with teachers and school counselors in identifying special population students.
• Works with Special Education Department with AOD problems, attend IEP conferences for exceptional students when there is a problem, and helps CT teachers with problems with exceptional students.
• Works with ALSDE in reporting follow-ups, teachers' daily schedules, enrollment, and special population reports.
• Provide leadership in the development, implementation, expansion, and evaluation of career and technical education for the benefit of the system's total education program.
• Supervise career and technical education programs located in middle/junior high schools and senior high schools.
• Establish a positive relationship with students, parents, co-workers, volunteers, and other visitors.
