General Statement Of DutiesThe Director who will be responsible for the overall operation and functioning of Moody Neuro-TideWay program. Duties include, but are not limited to, leading and directing the overall operations of the facility with focus on maintaining excellent care for the residents while achieving the company’s business objectives. S/he is responsible for providing leadership, management and vision to ensure that TideWay has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures and people in place to effectively manage the facility. S/he will ensure financial strength and operational efficiency. The Director will also work closely with Business Development to implement marketing and business development plans to increase census. S/he must understand budgeting and analyzing trends in order to control costs and assist the CEO in increasing the success of Tideway and Moody Neuro as a whole. Major Duties And ResponsibilitiesFacility Management
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct TideWay’s programs and activities in conjunction with operational budget as well as accreditation standards and licensing regulations.
Lead the TideWay management staff in developing and working from a business plan that focuses on all aspects of facility operations, including setting priorities and job assignments.
Monitor each department’s activities, communicate policies, evaluate performance, provide feedback and assist, observe, coach, and discipline as needed.
Oversee regular rounds to monitor delivery of care, operation of direct care department, cleanliness, and appearance of the facility; morale of the staff; and ensure resident needs are being addressed.
Utilize survey information to address areas of importance as defined by our residents and their families.
Verify that the building and grounds are maintained appropriately and that equipment and work areas are clean, safe and orderly, and any hazardous conditions are addressed.
Direct and/or assist in emergency procedures for fire, evacuation, or medical emergency.
Compliance Management
Maintain a working knowledge of and ensure compliance with all licensing and accreditation regulations/standards.
Facility Staffing and Retention
Monitor Human Resources practices to ensure and maintain high morale and staff retention to include effective communication, prompt problem resolution, proactive supervisory practices and maintaining a proactive work environment.
Manage turnover and solidify current and future staffing through appropriate selection, orientation, training, staff education and development.
Assist in the recruitment and selection of competent department managers, supervisors, and other personnel.
Consult with managers concerning the operation of their work areas and assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas, and/or improvement of services.
Ensure employment practices remain compliant with all EEOC Standards.
Recognize staff for exceptional care and job performance on a regular basis and as part of their formal performance evaluation.
Business Management
Manage TideWay budgets and business practices to include salaries, payables, and receivables.
Monitor business activities to be certain procedures and standards are followed, appropriate handling of funds and that sound credible business practices are followed at all times.
Community Relations
Develop positive relationships on behalf of TideWay with residents, families, physicians and community at large.
Minimum QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to organize, train, and supervise the Tideway staff.
Ability to follow and/or implement directions from clinical staff.
Ability to communicate accurate and pertinent information to Tideway staff.
Ability to demonstrate flexibility/adaptability.
Knowledge of behavior and needs of the brain injured population.
Ability to execute emergency procedures.
Hold current CPR, first aid certifications and Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training after hire.
Physical strength to assist/transfer residents. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Experience in Program Growth and Development.
EducationBachelor’s degree required; Degree in rehab related field preferred; Healthcare business degree also desirable. Hold or be eligible to acquire Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) certification. Hold or obtain Assisted Living Facility Manager License. ExperiencePrior Facility Administrator experience strongly preferred; Requires two years management experience working with adults with neurological impairments, or other disabilities in a comparable setting (i.e. Nursing Home, Assisted Living, Hospital etc.). Experience working in a residential environment with brain injured patients preferred. Current Texas Driver’s License required.
