General Statement Of DutiesThe Program Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a 16-bed long-term brain injury specialty program. General duties include (but are not necessarily limited to) scheduling of direct care staff; assigning and distributing daily duties to ensure the health, safety, and activity schedule for residents; supervision of staff assigned primarily to the evening, weekend and overnight shifts; assume responsibilities of the TideWay Director in the event of the Managers absence. Duties also include: acting as a role model for the residents and TideWay staff; overseeing and monitoring the documentation of residents behaviors; providing supervision for the residents and TideWay staff during activities of daily living; insuring that all TideWay staff are responsible for resident health and safety; ensuring implementation of individual service plans of each resident, and upholding TideWay policies and procedures. In addition, the Program Manager will ensure training and in-servicing of direct care staff and ensure proper communication is maintained between shifts. The Program Manager will also oversee the distribution of ADL and incontinent supplies to appropriate residents. The Program Manager will uphold the mission, philosophy, purpose and goals of the organization while maintaining strict confidentiality of personnel and resident data and other information in the performance of assigned duties. Essential FunctionsMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as the Manager in the event of the Directors absence.
Assure that TideWay is operating within DADS and CARF standards.
Provide supervision and guidance to the day, evening, weekend and overnight TideWay staff.
Assign specific shift duties to TideWay staff members based on residents individual needs and programmatic requirements.
Assign and supervise all TideWay staff in day, evening, weekend or overnight shifts in carrying out activities of daily living to be implemented and assist as needed.
Assist the TideWay Director or Vice President of Clinical Programs in identifying and providing necessary in-services for the residential staff.
Provide orientation for new TideWay staff.
Direct and assist the TideWay staff and residents during emergency procedures for fire, evacuations and medical emergencies.
Providing orientation for new residents.
Document and report all significant incidents to the TideWay Director.
Implementation of duties according to the policies and procedures of TideWay and Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute.
Maintain contact and insure the safety of TideWay residents.
Implementation of emergency procedures and prompt notification of appropriate on call personnel.
Guide and assist the residents in accordance to their individual service plan.
Enforce House Association rules during daily, evening and nightly activities.
Serve as a role model to the TideWay staff as well as the residents.
Fully understand and be able to perform the duties of the direct care staff as needed or Program Assistant/Lead Program Assistant when necessary.
Serve as a part of the on-call network as support for the on duty lead program assistants, and program assistants.
Maintain confidentiality.
Maintain accurate documentation and records in charting seizure reports, ADL check lists, significant incident reports, progress notes and medication monitoring sheets.
Attend educational meetings as assigned.
Discharge duties in accordance with Moody Neuro organizational policy, and other accrediting/licensing bodies.
On call as assigned by TideWay Director.
Screen/Interview potential employees.
Administer performance evaluations for employees every year.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to organize and instruct TideWay staff in their performance of tasks as delegated by the TideWay Director.
Ability to follow through and/or implement the directions of the TideWay Director.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to execute emergency procedures.
Ability to follow on-call protocol.
EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelors in Health Care or related field (preferred). Annual Management training required by State (ALF Certification). CPR and CPI/NCI certification. ExperiencePrior experience working in a structured residential setting is preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Current Texas Drivers License. Accommodation - adjustment of the lens of the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. This item is especially important when doing near-point work at varying distances from the eye.
