The Strategy Manager will collaborate with and support senior Audience Strategy leadership, internal Moore stakeholders and the client to formulate and execute data-driven audience-led direct marketing strategies to maximize fundraising results and revenue across multiple channels.
Responsibilities:Primary ownership of the following efforts:
  • Interface with the account team and client to understand the client's overall goals, objectives and requirements.
  • Prepare campaign implementation Program Plans that outline all relevant details of the campaign for planning and execution of direct mail campaigns. This includes contributing to campaign planning documents including concept memos or client specific documents that may be required for future efforts.
  • Prepare and deliver data processing instructions to the data team for each campaign.
  • Work with Strategy VP and list broker(s) to create audiences for acquisition campaigns. Create merge instructions which may include external data enhancements and processes.
  • Work with Client Success and Client Services to ensure that marketing strategies are effectively executed.
  • Interface with Moore stakeholders and external partners to include cager, database vendor, list broker, co-ops, modelers, digital partners, copy writers and other resources as necessary.
  • Track and analyze ongoing programs, evaluate return on investment of all programs, and make recommendations for using learnings in future audiences or campaigns.
  • Work with Data and Analytics team to ensure that campaign reports are accurate and timely.
  • Expedite the resolution of client problems/complaints.
  • Develop and propose new and innovative approaches to offer, expand or improve current practices.
  • Participate in industry conferences to develop knowledge and skills. Share knowledge with other team members.
Support strategy leadership by participating in the following initiatives:
  • Preparing annual direct mail fundraising plan for client to identify what short- and long-term goals need to be met and how to meet them.
  • Develop short-term strategic plans designed to ensure client satisfaction by identifying opportunities and offering creative and timely solutions.
  • Work with client to develop annual budgets and both short- and long-term projections.
  • Determine audience selection strategies for donor campaigns and effectively communicate segmentation criteria to analysts for execution.
  • Regularly develop presentations and participate in client meetings to share program outcomes and strategic recommendations for upcoming campaigns.
Required Skills:

Education and Experience:
  • Education: College or university program certificate.
  • Experience: Three or more years’ direct marketing fundraising experience with nonprofit clients.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Solid understanding of direct response fundraising strategies and tactics.
  • Intellectually curious.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex projects; a resourceful self-starter who can take initiative and follow through on projects.
  • Ability to adapt to frequent change and prioritize frequently shifting opportunities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills a must.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Adherence to AFP ethical standards and practices.
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Must be able to communicate with executive level personnel, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to travel as needed for regular client meetings and industry events approximately 10-15% of the time.
