Facilities Maintenance Technician Position
Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a full-time, non-exempt position scheduled for 40 hours/week, under the supervision of the Head of Staff and coordination with the Facilities Chair. The position will also follow and support projects from Facilities Committee (FAC) project leaders and requires a proactive steward who understands the importance of maintaining a welcoming, safe and attractive campus.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSA):
This position requires a working knowledge in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, Pest Control, Mechanical Service, Groundskeeping and other Handyman duties and the physical capacity to accomplish tasks as described. General knowledge and skills in cleaning and maintenance of building and grounds, attention to detail, proficiency in use of email, task management software and similar computer software applications and ability to manage vendors and contractors. A high school education is required with 5 years of on-the-job experience in related abilities.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
· Maintain church facilities to be in functional order and good appearance.
· Maintain church grounds to be respectable in function and appearance.
· Maintain facilities and grounds to be code compliant.
· Report any building and grounds abnormalities to the FAC project leaders.
· Cleaning and janitor services as directed and as needed.
· Make minor repairs in technical areas described in the KSA section above.
· Coordinate with the Administrative Assistant and Event Coordinator to meet the setup, breakdown and technical needs for church events and facility rentals.
· Coordinate the maintenance of church vehicles.
· Track and be cooperative with outside contractors. Coordinate work with the applicable FAC project leader(s). Know when an outside contractor is needed for work beyond KSA above.
· Purchase FAC material as directed by Supervisor and FAC. Receive said material, install or store properly for future use.
· Participate in church security detail and assist congregational members with their security duties on Sundays.
· Participate in Staff and FAC meetings when requested. Provide verbal and written reports as required by Supervisor and FAC.
· Use courtesy and common sense when working around meetings, services, pre-school, other staff.
· Acquire City of Naples Crowd Control license.
Schedule
The work schedule is determined by the operational needs of the church as assigned by the Head of Staff and may be adjusted as required. The Facilities Maintenance Technician may also be scheduled to work at special events or respond to special needs on any day of the week and will be paid the normal hourly rate plus overtime as applicable.
Current Schedule:
Monday thru Thursday (8:00a.m. to 5:15 p.m.); Sunday (7:30a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Summary Information
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay: $26.00/hour
Payroll Method: Auto Deposit Every Two Weeks (26/year), ADP Time and Attendance
Maximum hours/week: 40 hours (overtime must be pre-approved)
Paid Time Off: 15 days, to include no more than 4 Sundays
