Morgan County Head Start is Hiring an Early Head Start Teacher Near Wartburg, TN

Have a minimum of a child development associate credential (CDA) and training (or have equivalent coursework) in early childhood development. If the CDA is not in infant/toddler, the requirements for that CDA must be completed within one year of hire as a teacher of infants and toddlers. Teachers must have, at a minimum, a CDA credential in infant/toddler and have been trained (or equivalent course work) in early childhood development. An associate in early childhood education or higher with infant/toddler work or an associate degree or higher in a field related to early childhood education with infant/toddler course work and experience in teaching preschool children is desired. Must have valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation. Must be willing to obtain computer skills, be punctual, dependable, display initiative, accept supervision, complete assigned tasks and work well as a team member.

PERFORMANCE PLAN/JOB ELEMENTS

1. (20%) Establishes and maintains a safe and healthy learning environment using appropriate classroom organization, schedules, and routine and effective classroom and child management techniques; provides health and nutrition services for infants/toddlers.

2. (25%) Teaches developmentally appropriate learning activities and implements developmentally appropriate learning strategies for infants/toddlers based on individual needs in order to advance physical, intellectual, social, and emotional growth and development.

3. (20%) Recruits, trains, works appropriately with parents in compliance with Parent Involvement and operating policies and procedures; monitors children’s attendance and provides follow-up necessary to ensure regular, satisfactory child attendance.

4. (10%) Assists with transportation services for children and parents consistent with theTransportation Plan and operating policies and procedures.

5. (10%) Directs and supervises classroom aides and volunteers and provides the leadership, training, and monitoring, and assistance necessary for satisfactory personnel performance andeffective, efficient delivery of Head Start services in compliance with program and personnel policies andprocedures andother applicable regulations.

6. (15%) Demonstrates professional behaviors and work habits which comply with agency personnel policies and procedures, works closely with all Head Start staff to facilitate integrated service delivery, and completes special assignments from the immediate supervisor or Head Start Director.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
