Position Title: MC AFter 3 Program Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Secondary Education/Superintendent

FLSA/Contract Status: Exempt

Term: July 18,2024-August 6, 2024

Salary: $25.00 per hour

Evaluation: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State Board Policy 5310 and Morgan County Board of Education.

Job Summary: Responsible for strengthening and overseeing day-to-day operations of the 21st Century Community Learning Center program with Morgan County Schools at Warm Springs Intermediate School, Warm Springs Middle School, and Berkeley Springs High School. The position provides leadership in creating an inviting and safe environment for academic and extra-curricular opportunities for students. The director will be responsible for assuring high-quality program services and support to students and their families at three sites.

Qualifications:

• MA or BA in a “student-related field,” i.e. Elementary or Secondary Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Child/Youth Development, Child Guidance/Counseling, Child Psychology, Family Studies, Social Work, Human Services or related field

• Afterschool Administrative experience preferred.
• Grant management experience preferred.
• Experience with budgeting, supervision, working with “at risk” youth and curriculum development a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Be thoroughly familiar with the approved grant contract with WVDE.
• Assure adherence to the grant contract.
• Lead and direct all activities of the program.
• Hiring, scheduling, training, supervising and evaluating staff.
• Approve and monitor expenditures in accordance with approved budget monthly.
• Ensure a smooth day-to-day operation of the program.
• Enforce program policies and procedures.
• Create and distribute enrollment forms, emergency contact sheets and program guidelines to families and school members.
• Ensure student/staff safety.
• Evaluate the program and program staff using the appropriate evaluation materials.
• Determine staff development needs in cooperation with all staff in accordance with evaluation results.
• Arrange appropriate staff development.
• Develop positive school day to after-school relationships.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, students, staff, administration and community partners.
• Oversee the public relations and outreach for the program, enrollment and volunteer recruitment.
• Monitor data and outcomes for evaluation purposes.
• Prepare monthly reports.
• Develop a sustainability plan and work toward program sustainability over the grant period.
• Develop operational policies and practices for the after-school program in cooperation with staff, youth and parents.
• Project Director should visit each site while students are attending.
• Project Director should be available to Mc-After 3 Summer Camp teachers for consultation and guidance daily.
• Project Director should schedule formal meetings withand other staff on a regular basis.
