Morgan Stanley is Hiring a Portfolio Associate Near New York, NY
Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (“OCIO”) group partners with Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors to offer full discretion portfolio management services to institutional and private clients (e.g., Defined Benefit plans, Endowments, Foundations, Global Ultra High Net Worth, Family Offices, etc.) of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.
The OCIO team seeks an Portfolio Associate for the International practice.
Responsibilities Include
- Help Senior Portfolio Managers build and manage client portfolios, which includes development of the investment policy statement, customized portfolio construction, manager selection, portfolio implementation, ongoing portfolio rebalances and periodic client reviews and updates.
- Maintain ongoing and proactive monitoring of account positioning.
- Gain full functional knowledge of Morgan Stanley’s proprietary portfolio management tools.
- Participate in OCIO meetings and calls and get full understanding of OCIO market strategy and portfolio positioning.
- Help Senior Portfolio Managers develop portfolios and market content for finals presentations.
- Manage outflows, inflows on accounts and make sure that capital calls on the illiquid side of the portfolios are matched.
- Interface and support the connectivity with internal and external including the International Wealth Management department, research, trading, operations, product specialists, third party vendors and custodians.
- 4-6 years of experience serving non-US individuals, families, corporations and/or other institutions in a wealth management or investment consulting capacity
- Experience and knowledge in investment/ wealth management platforms and vehicles, including managed account platforms, mutual funds, Offshore ETFs, separate accounts, and alternative investments.
- Experience and knowledge in global capital markets, portfolio management, manager selection, risk management and performance attribution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Must be very detail-oriented, with an ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Access, Bloomberg Terminal and Morningstar preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Must be very detail-oriented, with an ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities.
- Proactive & hard working with strong professional accountability
- Fluent in Spanish or Mandarin is a plus.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
