DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Utility Line Locator focuses on locating Water, Sewer, and Storm Utility lines. This job will require

assistance with system flushing, valves, and other tasks. This position is not dedicated to line locating,

there will be other duties as assigned.

Display a professional and courteous attitude to customers, co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Utility locating

· Valid driver’s license, with good driving record

· Proven communication, problem solving, and people skills

· Basic math and computer skills

· Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time

· Ability to perform manual labor, and safely and proficiently use hand tools

· Possess the ability to assist the MUB Engineering Department with map book issues for in the field

· Available to work overtime and report to work after hours in response to emergencies

· Ability to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold

SPECIFIC SKILLSET KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

· Extensive knowledge of the following:

- Analyzing Maps and other blueprint to determine where Utility lines are located

- Familiarity with Utility Line locating equipment

- Ability to Utilize GPS or surveying equipment to pinpoint coordinates of Utility lines

- Ability to prepare diagrams and sketches that show the locations of Utility lines
