Ideally this position would be based in Washington, DC, however we are open to our other office locations (New York, NY or Chicago, IL).
The RoleAs a Morning Consult Business Development Representative, you will be at the forefront of prospecting and closing deals for our SaaS offering. You will also be a key architect in fortifying new client pipelines for a team of approximately 10 Account Executives. In this role, you’ll manage a full sales cycle from prospecting Fortune 1000 clients to sales funnel management, product demos and closing deals for our SaaS products. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the success of our business development strategy, and you will be entrusted to create and document best practices that will guide and empower future members of our dynamic Business Development team.

The Business Development Team At Morning ConsultThe Business Development team is part of the Commercial division at Morning Consult. We build key relationships, think strategically about the issues clients and prospects are facing and generate the momentum needed to deliver quality intelligence that will help our clients “win.” Our aim is to drive sustainable growth across our entire portfolio of business in close partnership with Commercial division teammates.
What You'll Be Working On
  • Building new client pipelines by conducting 100 outbound calls a week with your assigned territory
  • Enticing new client interest by strategically crafting 150 outbound emails a week
  • Qualifying inbound lead opportunities
  • Building a 3x pipeline for your 20 net new qualified meetings per month goal
  • Performing other tasks and duties as required or assigned from time to time at the Company’s discretion
About You And What You've Done
  • 1 years experience in a Business Development role (BDR or SDR)
  • SaaS sales experience required
  • Salesforce experience, including managing your pipeline, tracking metrics, etc.
  • Experience at a high-growth startup
  • A self-starter with a high sense of urgency and ability to work within undefined processes
  • Eagerness for constructive feedback and continuous self-improvement

This is equivalent to annual salaries of $52,400 - $79,600, with a midpoint of $66,000 - assuming 40 hours a week, the expected work schedule of this position.
If you are being evaluated at the BDR II level, the expected hourly rate for this position is $27.79 - $42.69, with a midpoint of $35.24. This is equivalent to annual salaries of $57,800 - $88,800, with a midpoint of $73,300 - assuming 40 hours a week, the expected work schedule of this position.
In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role. This role is eligible for additional variable compensation and an equity grant which will be discussed in your initial recruiter conversation.
