Job Title: Senior Network Platform Engineer
Location: Salisbury, MD (2 days onsite per week)
Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential for hire
Company: Leading Grocery Retailer
Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Platform Engineer to join our team within the data center tower. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our network infrastructure, particularly with Cisco ACI, F5 Load Balancers, and Infoblox/DDI systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and enhancing our network platform, ensuring reliability and performance across our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Automation: Automate network devices (routers, switches, protocol mediation devices) using tools like Ansible, Python, and other scripting solutions. Leverage JSON for automation tasks and possess strong knowledge in fault monitoring, capacity management, configuration management, and performance management.
Routing and Switching: Manage complex routing and switching topologies in a Cisco environment, including ASR, Catalyst, and Nexus (NX-OS) equipment. Utilize features such as ACI, OTV, OSPF, BGP, and similar.
Network Management and Monitoring: Experience with network management and monitoring tools like Cisco DNA, Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Gigamon, Splunk, and Panorama.
Key Technologies: Expertise in Infoblox for DNS/DHCP management, F5 Load Balancers for high availability and performance, and Cisco ACI. Familiarity with MS Azure is required.
Incident Management: Act as a point of escalation for external managed service providers, reviewing incident and problem data, and driving continuous improvement in incident management processes.
Collaboration and Strategy: Work with the Network Architecture team to implement solutions, participate in strategy discussions, provide feedback on designs, and suggest improvements based on day-to-day operations.
Business Requirements: Analyze business requirements to ensure that solutions align with networking policies and company controls.
Device Lifecycle Management: Monitor and manage the lifecycle of network devices, including firmware maintenance for routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
Support and Optimization: Provide Level 4 support for complex network issues, collaborate with HCL, our MSP partner, and ensure that network infrastructure meets business needs and performance standards.
Qualifications:
Proven experience with Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, Zscaler, F5, Aruba.
Bachelor's Degree in related field.
Knowledge of L2&L3 tech.
Familiarity with network automation tools is advantageous.
Relevant certifications are preferred but not required; candidate experience will be prioritized.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide advanced technical support.
