Datacenter Network Technician

Onsite in Ashburn, VA

6-Month – 1 year Contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion

As a Data Center Network Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of critical infrastructure components within our data center facilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of the clients’ data center environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies and contribute to the success of the organization.

What You Will Be Doing

• Vendor provided support staff shall assist the Data Center Infrastructure Management team maintain the integrity of client’s IT infrastructure.
• All Vendor provided services shall be in compliance with the ANSI-TIA/EIA 568-B
• Provides 1st level support
• Execution of Network Installs, Moves, Adds and Changes
• Ensure tickets/tasks are closed within Service Level Agreement required timeframes
• Must be willing to be part of 24x7 on-call rotation schedule

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience working in a data center, NOC or similar environment required
• Responsible for installing various network devices, servers, or routers according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Ability to trouble shoot layer-1 (physical) connectivity issues and perform basic layer 2 problem analysis to determine state of device.
• Ability to install and trouble shoot POTS/FAX lines and T1 circuits.
• Strong knowledge of data center operations, hardware, networking, and server administration
• Expertise in racking, stacking, and cabling of server equipment
