Job Title: Principal Network EngineerLocation: Charlotte, NC (Office presence required Tuesday and Thursday) or Fully RemoteWe're working with an MSP company that is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. They are looking for someone to help consult with clients and stakeholders on best practices, architect environments, and be a hands-on leader. They need someone to hit the ground running, this job requires a two day commute to the Charlotte Metro area. Must be local to Charlotte. They are looking for a lead/principal network engineer who has 10 years of experience. Who is comfortable being hands-on, this person will be working extensively with Cisco, Fortinet/Fortigate and PaloAlto devices. You're going to come in as a hands-on individual and will eventually have direct reports. Key Responsibilities
- Design and deployment of network solutions using Cisco, Fortinet, HP, and other technologies. Focus on Cloud, Security, Routing, and Wireless Technologies.
- (Python, Ansible) for automation in cloud-based environments.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Address complex network issues through detailed troubleshooting, perform network management functions, and maintain accurate records of changes and updates.
- Project Leadership: Manage and prioritize key projects, ensuring solutions align with business requirements and budgetary constraints.
- Documentation & Training: Prepare comprehensive network documentation, provide feedback and training to team members, and act as an escalation point for customer service issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations to propose and implement effective network solutions that enhance business processes and meet future needs.
- Location: Based in Charlotte, NC with office presence required on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Fully remote candidates will also be considered.
- Travel: Occasional overnight travel, less than once per month.
