Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Robotics Software Engineer with expertise in perception to join our dynamic team in Waltham, Massachusetts. As a key member of the robotics software engineering team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing perception algorithms that enable the robots to understand and interact with their environment autonomously. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize perception algorithms for robot localization, mapping, object detection, recognition, and tracking.
Implement state-of-the-art computer vision and sensor fusion techniques to enhance the perception capabilities of our robots.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, roboticists, and system integrators to integrate perception software into robotic systems.
Conduct performance evaluation and testing of perception algorithms in simulated and real-world environments.
Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise in perception-related tasks.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in robotics perception research and integrate cutting-edge techniques into our software development process.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
5 years of professional experience in robotics software development with a focus on perception.
Strong proficiency in C and Python programming languages.
In-depth knowledge of computer vision, machine learning, and sensor fusion techniques.
Hands-on experience with popular robotics frameworks such as ROS (Robot Operating System).
Proficiency in using simulation tools such as Gazebo or V-REP for robotic applications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
Experience with perception tasks in autonomous navigation, manipulation, or human-robot interaction.
Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Experience with sensor technologies including LiDAR, cameras, and inertial measurement units (IMUs).
