Purpose and Scope:

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing monetary, accounting, clerical, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities:

• Processes accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Performs day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
• Processes, verifies and reconciles invoices
• Processes vendor invoices into the accounting system
• Processes credit card transactions into the accounting system
• Assists in weekly check run
• Reconciles payable reports each month to confirm that all amounts paid were accurate
• Performs banking functions, online (and potentially in-person visits).
• Tracks and monitors expenses.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts
• Assists in billing and accounts receivable assignments
• Assists supervisor with any ad-hoc assignments
• Assists with audits
• Provides administrative and clerical support
• All other duties as required.

Education/Training

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, preferred. Will consider undergraduate working towards Accounting degree.
• Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and spreadsheets.
• Proficient with Microsoft Teams and Outlook
