Motor City Racks is Hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician Near Laurens, SC

I. JOB TITLE: ELECTRICIAN

Reports to: Plant Manager

II. JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include but not limited to prepare, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in all types of buildings and other structures. Work with electrical contractors and building maintenance personnel, duties as required.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Read blueprints or technical diagrams
  • Solid knowledge of the South Carolina Electrical Code
  • Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems
  • Install and repair equipment including switches, circuit breakers
  • Diagnose/evaluate electrical problems by measuring voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits
  • Connect power to communications equipment, signaling devices and heating / cooling systems.
  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
  • Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment
  • Maintain safe work practices
  • Proactively preparing for upcoming work
  • Interacting with various individuals at different levels within the company
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment i.e. work station, lunchroom etc.
  • Present a professional image of Motor City Racks, and a personal commitment to the safety and well being of all employees.
  • Report any hazards to the Plant Manager immediately so corrective action can be taken.
  • Practice safe and proper use of machinery and tools
  • Perform other duties as required

III. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES REQUIRED

Requirements:

  • Five years of relevant electrical experience, preferably in an industrial setting
  • Solid knowledge of the South Carolina Electrical Code
  • A valid G class driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Superior problem solving skills
  • A desire for continuous improvement
