Department OverviewThe Motorola Solutions NB Radio Engineering team, located in Plantation, FL., specializes in the design and development of world class Mission Critical Communications equipment. This team develops antennas and RF circuits for use in our portable radio products. We need innovative and motivated RF engineers to apply their talents to take our radio product solutions to the next level. As a member of our team you will have opportunities to work on a variety of circuits and system designs in addition to the antenna work described here.
Job DescriptionThis RF Antenna Engineer will perform antenna design and simulation, and antenna testing applicable to portable wireless products. In this position you will:
MSEE or BSEE with 2 years of antenna and RF circuits design experience.
Strong “hands on” engineering and prototyping skills with excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
Cadence, ADS, CST circuit simulation tool experience and scripting for design automation.
Ability to own and drive design assignments to completion.
Basic RequirementsMSEE or BSEE with 2 years of antenna and RF circuits design experience.
Travel RequirementsUnder 10%

Job DescriptionThis RF Antenna Engineer will perform antenna design and simulation, and antenna testing applicable to portable wireless products. In this position you will:
- Create and innovate RF circuits and antenna designs in the 100MHz to 5GHz frequency range for LMR & LTE public safety communication products.
- Utilize CAE tools (Cadence, HFSS, CST, ADS, MATLAB, LabView) to model and optimize circuits and antenna performance.
- Use Labview tools for test automation and data collection
- Work with product teams, regulatory engineers, accessory designers, and suppliers to move designs to production.
- Understanding of RF test equipment and measurement tools, such as RF anechoic chambers, signal analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, soldering stations, etc.
- Maintain antenna test equipment calibration including antenna chamber and other instrumentation available up to date for testing
