Inside Sales
Job Summary
Primarily responsible for interacting with customers to provide material quotations, processing orders, procuring material, and providing delivery specifics. Provide sales support for Outside Sales Representatives, develop and maintain excellent customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Perform the inside sales function in an efficient manner by providing customers with product information including pricing, availability, potential cross references, and possible solutions.
- Secures and processes order entry information.
- Provides courteous, accurate, knowledgeable, and timely assistance to customers.
- Addresses and resolves difficult customer complaints and/or inquiries promptly.
General Accountabilities
- Meets monthly sales goals.
- Increases business by actively selling to customers in addition to taking orders.
- Develops new and current customer accounts by marketing company product lines.
- Assists outside sales personnel by processing transactions and communicating effectively regarding customer base, sales leads, and product preferences.
- Considers all aspects of selling including: vendor relationships, profit and loss concepts, long and short-term goals of the company.
- Gathers marketing information regarding customers, competitors and pricing as well as implements sales strategies set forth by management.
- Participates in training opportunities to enhance and maintain personal and product knowledge.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Enters Orders, Quotes, Pricing, and Purchase Orders efficiently and correctly into DDI Inform. Maintains current customer information and pertinent account details in DDI.
- Monitor and communicate customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
- Greets counter customers and determines make, type and quality of merchandise customer is seeking.
- Establishes, develops, and maintains excellent working relationships with customers, prospective customers and co-workers; offers options, resolves problems, provides technical information and follows up.
- Maintain a positive, friendly, helpful demeanor and project a positive professional image of the company in all communications.
- Monitors for theft.
- Processes merchandise returns, refunds, or exchanges for customers.
- Performs all cashiering functions for COD customers.
- Keeps customer and employee sales areas clean and organized.
- Assists with answering incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate person or department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Pay Range and Description of Benefits:
- Salary Range: $19.00 to $37.50/hr
- Inside Sales Support I $19.00 to 26.00/hr
- Inside Sales Support II $24.00 to 30.00/hr
- Inside Sales Support III $28.00 to 37.50/hr
- Starting Range: $19.00 to $21.00/hr
