Description

Summary of Job

The Senior Process Engineering Manager in Distribution plays a critical role in the optimization of our warehouse and distribution operations. This leadership position is responsible for managing and enhancing our continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, safety, and effectiveness while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. As the Senior Process Engineering Manager, you will oversee a team of professionals, collaborate with various department managers, and spearhead projects that drive the distribution center's success. Additionally, you will be responsible for process changes in the supply chain, incorporating complex analysis and project management.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain Process Optimization: Lead complex analysis of the supply chain to identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process changes that enhance the efficiency, quality, and reliability of supply chain operations.
  • Establish Warehouse KPIs: Define and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the warehouse and provide strategic leadership to operations managers to meet and exceed these metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement Leadership: Promote, identify, and implement continuous improvement projects within the warehouse, utilizing methodologies such as DMAIC and Lean Manufacturing. Develop a project pipeline and execute projects using Gantt Chart methodology.
  • Innovation Initiatives: Explore innovative initiatives aligned with business growth objectives, including benchmarking and automation solutions to enhance distribution center capabilities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the Distribution Center complies with SQF (Safe Quality Food) regulations and works in collaboration with the safety department to meet CT-PAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) regulations.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Solve customer challenges by using root cause analysis methods, such as Root Cause, 5Why's, and Gap Analysis, to evaluate and address complaints effectively.
  • Process Standardization: Develop and document processes as Standard Operating Procedures that align with actual work practices, providing guidance to managers and supervisors in their use.
  • Cost Savings Projects: Identify and execute cost-saving projects within the warehouse to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.
  • Space Design: Utilize AutoCAD to design the warehouse space for optimal rack utilization, enhancing storage capacity and flow.
  • Project Management: Utilize advanced project management methodologies to handle complex supply chain projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed within established timelines and budgets.
  • Data Analysis: Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel for creating dashboards and conducting in-depth data analysis.
  • Communication: Maintain excellent communication skills when interacting with managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders impacted by projects and procedural changes.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with the Director of Warehouse and Logistics to support other warehouses in the MFF/Elements supply chain network by analyzing processes and identifying improvement priorities.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or other Bachelor of Science or related.
  • 3 years of experience in warehousing functions.
  • 3 years of experience in implementing and promoting continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S.

Physical Requirements

  • Be able to lift to 30 lbs.
  • Be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Be able to measure materials and pallets.
