The successful candidate will serve in the following roles:K-2 Literacy CoachThe K-2 Literacy Coach ensures students receive high-quality literacy instruction. The Literacy Coach leads the development and improvement via training, observations, model lessons, feedback conversations, data analysis and more. The Literacy Coach serves as the literacy content expert and provides support on curriculum, high-quality interactions, and the science of teaching reading. Key Responsibilities include:●Facilitate professional development for teachers●Collaborate with teachers to identify next steps to improve ELA instruction in ELA●Model exemplar lessons●Support lesson preparation●Analyze data, identify trends, and support teachers to adjust instruction based on data●Communicate a belief in all students’ abilities to become successful readers●Attend all required meetings and trainings●Communicate with leadership team on school-wide literacy progressProfessional Development Provider K-12 Key Responsibilities include:●Conduct professional development and in-service training for teachers and staff on the implementation fo evidence based science of reading methods and strategies●Support the development of instructional material to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of all learners●Support individuals and small groups of teachers through coaching/ modeling of quality literacy lessons in classroom settingsReading Interventionist Grades 7-8 Key Responsibilities include:●Conduct 1:1 or small group reading sessions to provide targeted support using evidence-based instructional strategies to improve reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.●Regularly assess and monitor students' progress in intervention programs.●Adjust intervention plans as needed based on ongoing assessments.Literacy Assessment Coordinator:Key Responsibilities include:●Inventory existing literacy assessments and identify additional assessments as needed to best identify student needs●Ensure school staff are trained to administer assessments ●Collaborate with the team to analyze test results and share information with various stakeholder groups
