Mount Mary University is Hiring a MSW Director of Field Education for Social Work/Assistant Professor Near Milwaukee, WI
Position Summary: The Director of Field Education for Social Work uses strong community relationships to develop and provide oversight to the fieldwork education program. This tenure-track position requires significant contact with students, faculty, social work & human service organizations, and administrative offices to ensure that each Mount Mary University MSW student receives quality fieldwork education. Position provides 50% teaching in MSW social work courses related to fieldwork or other courses consistent with practice experience and 50% fieldwork responsibilities in the MSW program. Primary Responsibilities:
Teach courses related to fieldwork preparation and experiences
Curriculum development and revision
Provide ongoing support to full time and adjunct faculty teaching field education
Serve as a resource for faculty members and other program areas
Serve on faculty assembly and All-University committees
Provide service to the institution and the community
Engage in ongoing scholarship and professional activity (research, publications, presentations)
Advise students
Secure and maintain fieldwork sites for MSW social work students (traditional and advanced standing)
Prepare students for fieldwork placements
Establish and maintain the field education manual, fieldwork contracts and other documents
Follow up with agency field instructors to monitor student progress
Visit fieldwork sites as needed to monitor student progress and/or develop new field sites
Maintain compliance with CSWE accreditation standards for fieldwork
Complete annual data collection and dissemination of CSWE competency benchmarks
Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned
Skills and Experience :
Master's degree in social work from a CSWE accredited program required. A PhD/DSW is preferred.
Previous undergraduate or masters social work teaching experience; will also consider other relevant experience
Strong working knowledge and understanding of established professional code of ethics and best practices
Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills including the ability to work with diverse groups
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of professional and community groups
