Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Office receptionist to join our healthcare team. Candidate will be trained to function as part of the front desk staff. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative healthcare environment, providing essential support to patients and medical staff. Duties:
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Schedule patient appointments using medical scheduling systems
- Accurately enter and verify patient demographics and insurance information/coverage at check in
- Collect Co-pays, co-insurance and self-pay balances at time of visit.
- Reconcile payment batch amounts, complete deposit slip and submit to billing department daily.
- Performs all procedures in opening and closing clinic, as well as daily and weekly tasks.
- Maintain patient records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Medical receptionist duties
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as directed by physicians
Experience:
- Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical office procedures
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Types: Part-time, Per diem
Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 30 per week
