Mountain Park Health Center is Hiring a Director of Finance Near Phoenix, AZ

The Mountain Park Health Center Director of Finance is accountable for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of the financial planning & analysis, reporting, procurement, and payroll processes of the organization. This position works closely with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure that the organization’s financial needs are met and help drive best financial practices within the organization.

This position is responsible for directing, managing, and overseeing a team of Finance staff consisting of payroll and procurement leaders and financial analysts. This position requires current, in-depth knowledge of healthcare financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, ad hoc financial analysis, financial modeling, payroll processing and procurement processes. Is responsible for communicating financial results to all levels of the organization including Executive management. Contributes to MPHC’s mission to remove barriers to care allowing our patients access to affordable healthcare. The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Essential Functions:

  • Implements, executes, measures, and oversees the daily administration of assigned area(s) to include financial planning & analysis, reporting, procurement, and payroll.
  • Analyzes financial data and presents financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Leads the annual budgeting and planning process. Develops and reviews all financial plans to identify, explain and correct variances as appropriate. Analyzes and reports long-term trends.
  • Leads and direct projects as assigned.
  • Translates business priorities into strategies, plans, and actions.
  • Directs, mentors, develops, and manages a team of staff members to ensure processes and procedures are in line with Mountain Park standard.
  • Oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of MPHC financial planning & analysis, reporting, payroll, and procurement functions to optimize performance.
  • Assesses fiscal implications of organizational changes; monitors and analyzes the impact of change.
  • Facilitates collaboration with Finance, Operations and Clinical for MPHC revenue analysis, payer mix and utilization and financial forecast projections.
  • Reports on organization’s financial performance recommending action plan as needed.
  • Oversees the timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll, submission of quarterly payroll related reports to federal and state government and payroll related tax updates.
  • Collaborates with Human Resource Department for payroll related deductions for taxing and legal purpose.
  • Oversees all MPHC business purchasing/procurement related activities including procurement activities across multiple categories of spending including the sourcing of equipment, goods and services and managing vendors.
  • Ensures MPHC remains in compliance with federal procurement guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field required.
  • 10 years of healthcare financial operations and analysis experience
  • Significant experience with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience in managing healthcare financial operations and analysis in an organization with $100 million of annual revenue.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • CPA
  • FQHC experience preferred.
  • Oracle / Smart View software competency preferred.
