Mountain Recreation is Hiring a Front Desk Attendant (Part-Time; Year-Seasonal) Near Eagle, CO

Description

Mountain Recreation offers a fun, exciting environment to our participants and staff alike; one that fosters skill building, movement, life skills and fun! Applicants must be enthusiastic, have strong skills in working as a team with coworkers and show strong communication and class management skills.

Mountain Recreation is looking for friendly and outgoing individuals to help our Front Desk team in Eagle at the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink. A customer service position, greeting customers, collecting daily admissions, activity registrations, and answering phones. Responsible for daily sales, activity registrations, pass sales, equipment rentals, cash balancing, and providing information to the public

POSITION DETAILS

Job Title: Front Desk Attendant

Location: Eagle Pool and Ice Rink (Eagle, CO)

Schedule: Part-Time; Seasonal; September – April

Work Environment: Works indoors. Work hours and days may vary, including evenings, weekends, and early mornings with some holiday hours included. Position may require long periods of standing or sitting.

Supervision Required: Works under the supervision of the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink Facility Supervisor and Facility Coordinator

Supervision Exercised: None

Salary: $16.77-$20.96/hour DOE; staff in this position are eligible for a $1/hour incentive for Spanish/English bilingual and can pass the language competency test.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Statement of Duties: Performs varied office duties including reception, customer transactions, cash handling and general office assistance.

Examples of Duties:

  • Welcomes pass holders and greets guests entering the facility, striving to create a positive first impression while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Serves as cashier for a variety of transactions including drop-in facility fees, program registration, pass sales, concessions, etc. Notifies participants of program/class cancelations or changes.
  • Provides excellent internal and external customer service. Creates a positive experience for customers through professional and courteous behavior and effective problem resolution.
  • Maintains safety, cleanliness, and organization of work area and surrounding lobby area. Assists with other cleaning as assigned.
  • Performs emergency support as directed in the emergency action plan.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures at the facility.
  • Greets the public and directs them to activities; answers multi-line telephone and provides District and facility information. Assist patrons with lost & found items.
  • Attend staff meetings and in-service sessions as necessary.
  • Provide information to the public on facility operations and recreation programs.
  • Monitor lobby area to ensure paying customers and cleanliness.
  • Performs light maintenance duties such as picking up towels, sweeping/mopping floors, wiping down counters. Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of front desk area.
  • Complete special projects and assist in other areas as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Considerable knowledge of: Cash register operation and cash handling; ability to count money and make change.

Skills and abilities:

  • Computer efficiency
  • General knowledge of recreation, sports, physical fitness and leisure activities.
  • Customer service skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as a team player.

Requirements:

Education and experience:

  1. Minimum 16 years of age or older; AND
  2. High school graduate or equivalency or currently attending high school.
  3. Previous customer service experience preferred; OR
  4. Any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the above-described duties.
  5. Bilingual Spanish and English preferred

Certifications

  • May require possession of or ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
