JOB SUMMARY:
Demonstrate genuine interest and helpfulness when processing customer transactions and when identifying sales opportunities while maintaining minimum performance standards as outlined in Teller Training Manual. Primarily function is as a Teller and serves as a backup Personal Banker. Individually contribute a sharp presentation and positive atmosphere to each and every customer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
a. Provide quality customer service to all customers and prospective customers. Each customer transaction should be perceived by each teller as an opportunity to promote and refer Platte Valley Bank products, services, and promotions.
b. Maintain basic knowledge of Platte Valley’s products, services and promotions in order to respond to customer inquiries and refer business.
c. Responsible for processing daily transactions and for balancing teller cash drawer. Must perform all assigned duties in a professional, timely, accurate, efficient manner as outlined in the Teller Manual.
d. Maintain knowledge of all Teller policies, practices and procedures. Attend all scheduled Teller meetings.
e. Maintain knowledge of basic Personal Banker functions in terms of account openings and closing, and other basic Personal Banker processes.
f. Greet clients and prospective clients extending courtesy, kindness, and genuine interest.
g. Communicate customer’s comments or suggestions as well as your own to your supervisor in order to improve or evaluate existing methods of operations.
h. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. General areas of competency: decision making, dependability, development, environmental safety, evaluation skills, interpersonal skills, prioritizing, problem solving, selling skills, team skills and time management.
3. Customer contact in a sales environment preferred.
4. Effective oral and written communication skills (including telephone).
5. Ability to operate a computer, typewriter or adding machine preferred. Software skills required.
6. Fundamental mathematical ability.
7. Cash handling experience preferred.
8. Must be capable of working with and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Physical Requirements:
Light Work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, fingering, grasping, repetitive motions, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, climbing, kneeling, talking, hearing, pulling, pushing, thinking, concentrating and interacting with others.
You should be capable of performing in a reasonable manner, with or without reasonable accommodation, the activities involved in this job.
Machines Used:
Computer, scanner, debit card encoder, debit card printer, teller machine, typewriter, 10-key adding machine, check encoder, fax machine, copy machine, telephone.

Colorado Pay Range: $20-$22 per hour based upon experience, education, and/or skill level.
