Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Billing Manager to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises billing clerks as needed, responsible for maintaining patient accounts from the time they are billed until payment is received. Follows up on all payers classes according to established guidelines by phone or online. Notes every account worked. Responsible for designing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures as well as streamlining effective billing processes across multiple markets. Assists all billing clerks with additional duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supervises the billing clerks.
2. Assumes responsibility for all accounts within one or more payer classes.
3. Establishes billing processes for third party payers.
4. Oversees and streamlines billing and collections processes
5. Plan and implement quality assurance for all processes
6. Follow-up on accounts until insurance has fully processed claim or a valid insurance denial is on file.
7. Processes and distributes copies of billings as required.
8. Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings and all other meetings as required.
9. Personnel development; staff meetings
10. Answers inquiries regarding patient accounts.
11. Staffing discussions and planning; interviews for open positions; team building
12. Process and work explanation of benefits from third party payers.
13. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
14. Responsible for knowing hospital policies and being familiar with hospital services.
15. Accepts and completes other duties as assigned or requested.
16. The employee is required to comply with all PCI standards and other company policies and procedures for payment card acceptance and security

Qualifications

Education/Certification: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Experience: Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Equipment/Technology: Ability to use hospital information system, and operate basic computer functions and software.

Language/Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Mental Capabilities: Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others. Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate others. Detail oriented. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
