Mountain West Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near Laramie, WY

Job DescriptionMountain West Farm Bureau Insurance is currently hiring for a full-time Senior Accountant to join our team and be responsible for supporting financial functions across all areas of the company including financial statement preparation and analysis, cost accounting, and budgeting. The Senior Accountant performs general ledger account reconciliations as well as executes accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. They analyze financial statements for discrepancies; oversee county office audits, bank reconciliations and miscellaneous cash receipts; and establish, modify, document and coordinate implementation of audit and accounting control procedures. They also act as a knowledgeable resource for other members of the team. This full-time position is located at the home-office in Laramie, WY and typically works 40 hours per week between 8 am to 5 pm, Monday-Friday. You can expect a wage of $5,833 per month.

Requirements For a Senior AccountantIn this full-time position, you will operate in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing these job duties, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and is frequently required to stand, walk and occasionally lift and move office products or supplies. The following are required to assist in the duties performed by a Underwriter I:
  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • Two years’ accounting experience in property and casualty or SSAP accounting or four years’ experience in a combination of property and casualty accounting, SSAP accounting or other accounting practices.
  • Preferred Requirements:
    • Master’s degree in accounting.
    • Knowledge or experience in company systems.
    • CPA, CMA or CIA certification.
    • Four years’ general ledger accounting experience.
