As an Engineering Technician in our Materials Lab, you'll be at the forefront of coatings excellence. Under general supervision, you'll conduct coatings testing and evaluation with a focus on Central Coatings Laboratory (CCL) projects. Your main responsibilities will include:
 
  • Performing metallographic processes such as sectioning, mounting, polishing, and etching to exacting customer specifications.
  • Issuing comprehensive lab reports based on thorough coating evaluations.
  • Assisting and spearheading projects related to CCL initiatives.
  • Managing coating evaluation projects from start to finish.
  • Processing test data efficiently using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Calibrating and setting up standardized material/metallographic testing stations for precise results.
  • Viewing samples with optical microscopy equipment to ensure quality standards are met.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
 
  • Minimum high school diploma required.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in Central Coatings Laboratory settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of various coatings, including thermal spray, plasma spray, HVOF, thermal barrier, and environmental barrier.
  • Ability to interpret specifications and drawings accurately.
  • Adept at understanding and engaging with specialized topics.
  • Keen eye for detail and a commitment to thoroughness in every task.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
