Position: Senior Buyer
FSLA Status: Exempt 
Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Buyer develops and maintains a supplier base that supports company objectives regarding quality, cost and production requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 

• Select, qualify, and develop suppliers to meet Amerequip strategic objectives.
• Work with cross functional team to conduct supplier assessments.
• Solicit quotes and source parts at the most cost-effective price, ensuring quality standards and delivery requirements are met.
• Communicate Engineering and Production changes to supply base according to departmental procedures.
• Address and resolve the disposition of non-conforming parts.
• Address and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Utilize ERP system to evaluate optimum buy quantities.
• Expedite purchased materials as needed.
• Maintain records associated with the purchasing function, supplying relevant information to the accounting, sales and production functions.
• Develop conduit with design engineering to ensure engineering and supply chain are aligned.
• Ensure and promote to Engineering Amerequip Qualified Suppliers are part of design process for new attachments.
• Assist in coaching buyers as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires an associate degree and three to five years of progressive purchasing experience; or a high school diploma and six to eight years of progressively responsible purchasing experience.
